False Advertising I went in store and purchased a CBD vape cartridge, advertised as 2% THC on the store menu. I had asked the salesperson for the highest CBD and lowest % THC available, as I was not trying to feel its psychoactive effects. Upon returning home and opening the package, I notice that I was given a product with 4.5% THC. That's a whopping 225% more THC than advertised. This is a big difference for someone like me that primarily uses CBD isolate. It's important to note that on the store menu, there was no mention of possible variance or ranges of THC levels for the product. I called back to ask if I could exchange the product, but was told this was against store policy. The attendant did confirm that their menu had in fact not been updated since the last batch of product, which explains the inaccuracy between what was advertised to me and what I received. I then sent an email to management to follow-up, got no answer, and then called the store again to speak to management. The assistant manager I spoke to told me that Yaletown Cannabis Store only refunds products that are returned due to defects. Otherwise, they "wouldn't get the cost of the product back". To Yaletown Cannabis Store management: that's absolutely not how a refund works. A refund is appropriate to amend a mistake made by the establishment. Yaletown Cannabis Store's policies and actions are unacceptable in terms of consumer fairness. I feel scammed. If a customer buys a cheese pizza, brings it home, then discovers they forgot to add the cheese-- is it the customer's fault for not checking the pizza before leaving the store, or did the store fail to provide the product as advertised and purchased? Regardless of the refund, which I've given up on at this point-- I hope that Yaletown Cannabis Store becomes more proactive in ensuring that it doesn't provide the wrong product to clients. Can you imagine if you got a bottle of wine, advertised at 13% alcohol, and it turned out to have 29.5%? That's the same 225% difference I experienced with the product I purchased.
